Connectivity that
stays connected.
Business internet, failover, and network design, with plans across every category so the connection matches what the site actually needs rather than what was available at the time. It is for organisations where an outage stops trade rather than simply being annoying.
THE PROBLEM
Most businesses discover their internet has no failover on the morning it goes down.
The cost of leaving this alone is rarely one visible failure. It is the slow accumulation: the workaround that became the process, the thing only one person knows, the renewal nobody questioned.
Our starting point is always the same: establish what is actually true today, then decide what to change. Work scoped against an assumption tends to solve a problem you do not have.
- 01One connection, no second pathWhen it drops, the business stops, and the answer is to wait.
- 02Nobody knows what you are paying forThe plan was chosen years ago by someone who has left, and has not been looked at since.
- 03The carrier and the IT provider blame each otherEvery fault becomes a negotiation between two suppliers while you are still offline.
WHAT YOU GET
What the engagement covers
Scoped before it starts, so you know what is included and what is not.
- 01
A plan that fits the site
Fibre, fixed wireless, business broadband, or a dedicated circuit with a guaranteed rate. We price several categories against what the site can genuinely get and what an hour offline costs you.
- 02
Failover
A second path on a different technology that takes over automatically, then gets tested rather than assumed.
- 03
Network design
Segmentation so guests, staff, payment devices, and cameras are not all sharing one flat network.
- 04
Monitoring and one bill
We see the outage when it starts rather than when someone calls, and we deal with the carrier so you do not have to.
HOW WE WORK
Assess, deploy, operate, review
Four stages with a written output at each one. You always know which stage you are in and what comes next.
- 01Week 1
Assess
We document what exists today and what it needs to do, so the work is scoped against reality rather than assumption.
- 02Weeks 2 – 4
Deploy
Changes are made in a planned sequence, outside working hours where disruption would otherwise land on your staff.
- 03Ongoing
Operate
It is monitored and maintained as part of your agreement. Problems are ours to notice, not yours to report.
- 04Quarterly
Review
What it is costing, whether it still fits, and what should change before the next renewal.
WHAT CHANGES
What you should expect
- Someone other than you owns it, with that written down.
- The current state is documented and stays documented.
- Cost is planned ahead rather than discovered at renewal.
- Decisions are made against evidence rather than assumption.
FAQ
Questions we get asked
01What is connectivity?
Business internet, failover, and network design, with plans across every category so the connection matches what the site actually needs rather than what was available at the time. It is for organisations where an outage stops trade rather than simply being annoying.
02What internet connection does a small business in New Zealand actually need?
For most offices under about twenty people, business fibre is the right answer, with a fixed wireless or mobile backup. Above that, or where the business cannot trade offline, the conversation moves to a circuit with a guaranteed rate and a contracted restoration time. The honest test is not headline speed, it is what an hour without a connection costs you.
03What is the difference between business fibre and a residential plan?
Price, and what happens when it breaks. Residential plans are contended, have no service target, and are restored on a best-effort basis, which on a long weekend can mean days. Business plans carry a support path, a restoration target, and usually a static address, which you need for remote access and for some payment and phone systems.
04What is internet failover and do we really need it?
Failover is a second connection on a different technology, usually mobile or fixed wireless, that takes over automatically when the main one drops. Whether you need it comes down to one question: can your team work for a full day without internet. For most businesses the answer is no, and failover costs a fraction of a day of lost trading.
05Can you take over the connection we already have?
Usually yes. We can manage an existing circuit, take over the billing relationship, or move you to a better-fitting plan when the term allows it. We will tell you if your current plan is genuinely fine, because sometimes it is and the problem is the network behind it.
06Why does our Wi-Fi keep dropping when the internet is fine?
Because they are separate problems that get blamed on each other. Wi-Fi drops are almost always coverage, channel interference, or consumer-grade access points being asked to handle a business load. It is worth diagnosing properly, since replacing a perfectly good internet connection will not fix it.
07How much does connectivity cost in New Zealand?
We quote after scoping rather than before. Anyone pricing this work without looking at your environment is guessing, and the guess is rarely in your favour. Scoping itself is quick, and we tell you what it costs before we start it.
08How long does it take to get started with connectivity?
A first conversation takes about half an hour and costs nothing. Scoping is usually a week or two of our time depending on the size of the environment, and we agree the delivery dates with you before anything is booked in.
09Can you deliver connectivity alongside our existing IT team or provider?
Yes, and it is common. We are happy to work as an extra pair of hands under your internal team, or alongside an incumbent provider on a defined piece of work. We will set out in writing where the responsibilities split, so nothing falls between us.
10Do we have to move all of our IT to Atlas to get this?
No. This can be delivered as a standalone piece of work for an organisation we have never worked with before, or folded into a managed agreement if you already have one with us. Plenty of clients use us for one thing and keep everything else where it is.
11Do you only work with Auckland businesses?
Our team is based in Auckland and we attend sites across the wider region. Most of this work is delivered remotely, so we support organisations throughout New Zealand, and we will say up front where being on site genuinely matters.
12Who will we actually be dealing with day to day?
Named people, not a queue. You get a lead who knows your environment and stays with it, which is the difference between explaining your business once and explaining it every time you make contact.
13What happens if we want to leave?
You keep the documentation regardless, and anything registered in your name stays in your name. Whether we stay involved is your call. Some clients take it in house from there, others move it onto an ongoing agreement with us. We would rather you left cleanly than stayed because leaving was difficult.
Start with a conversation.
Tell us what you are dealing with and we will tell you whether this is the right service for it, and what it would take.
